HOUSTON HIGHLAND GAMES
MAY 16-17, 2009
 
  The Houston Highland Games were held in the facilities at the Farm and Ranch Club on May 16-17, 2009.   The tent was manned by Doug Beaton, Larry Sears, Gloria McLeod, and Enola Harrington so we had plenty of help to take care of our visitors, and there were many.  

  The Clan MacLeod Society has a very active  presence at this event as Scholarships have been established at St. Thomas Episcopal School through the Dunvegan Foundation for piping, dancing and drumming.  We also give an award to the winner of the Mini-Band competition. 

  The Mini-Band competition was won by the St. Thomas Episcopal School MiniBand.  Members of this band are Anthony Masterson, Andrew Coulter, Johathan Caro, Michael Hrncir, Nadar Girgawy, Kevin Yang, and Joey Lewman.  Anthony Masterson received the piping scholarship, Kevin Yang was the recipient of the drumming scholarship, and the dance scholarship was divided between Rachel Seals and Emily Ramsey as a decision could not be made between the two.  They are both outstanding dancers.  Nathan Schroedter renewed his membership as he does every year at this time.
